This album is an amalgamation of my best mashups/remixes and beats over the past year and a half. The concept I had in mind sonically was to create a beautiful but dissonant atmosphere and complement it with hard-hitting rap vocal tracks. Additionally, using elements of lo-fi hip-hop to make the soundscape dusty, raw, and in some cases heavily processed. There isn't a huge overarching theme for the record's name and album art, but I do feel like there's something beautiful yet terrifying in concepts such as protecting or "grounding" yourself. Similarly to the title and sound of the album, the art I created is simultaneously alluring and rugged. Thanks for listening, hope you enjoy and happy new year. -IMPEND
